This is the third (possibly fourth) reincarnation of siliconsara.com as a blog. However, my web antics go way back, to around 2003 (and maybe even earlier, difficult to remember).
I started out as a web collective, hosting various shrines and other novelty sites under the gracious hosting of others, such as supernothing.org and free hosting sites (too many to mention). After that I added a blog in there somewhere, but it wasn’t the forefront. I started out with Greymatter and worked my way up through Livejournal and WordPress. I had also gone through a few domains, namely kthxbai.org and okidoki.ws, finally settling on siliconsara.com in 2005.
The name itself was created after wanting a moniker that sounded like a cross between a kitschy nickname and a porn name; it had to reflect my love for computers and the internet. I choose ‘silicon’ for a few reasons, that being it alliterates with my RL name and that silicon is the choice element for creating our precious PC’s and electronics. It’s also eventually going to be a retro name for the start of the internet age as silicon will go out of style for quantum computing, so it reflects the age where I first started getting into this whole internets thing. It’s also a test: for those who go “lol, boob jobs and sex toys!” when hearing the name are people who are best to avoid. That’s siliconE, sillykins. :D
Siliconsara.com has either been a blog or a landing page for my various social profiles. Now it’s a tumble log.
About The Sara

It’s difficult to talk about myself, but I’ll give it my best shot. I can say that my star sign is Pisces and I have an INFJ personality. Mash those two together and you have a really day-dreamy, private and very weird person.
Right now I’m mostly known for my love of Predators, which is still going strong after 5 years of discovering it all. I’m the current owner of The Predaphiles Network, a community for alt Predator fans. It’s got its love and hate over its existence since it began but I wouldn’t trade it for the world with all the positive feedback I’ve gotten from it. I also moderate The AVP Subtext deviantART group.
I am an avid knitter and sometimes crocheter. I have baskets upon baskets of yarn; most of it there for the Warm Up America project with about 25% left for my own pursuits. I hate making a gauge swatch, throwing caution to the wind when following someone else’s pattern. My favorite fiber blends are superwash wool and nylon as well as wool and acrylic. I love cotton too. I like to be able to throw my knitted objects into the washing machine without it felting all over the place. I do not like to hand wash, arrgh! I feel as though it’s not clean enough.
I love to collect things and if there’s a series of something I have to collect the whole set to feel secure. I collect everything from bookmarks, books, yarn, tea sets, incense, handbags, notebooks, piggy banks, ect…
I am a wannabe artist and am on and off in college for a degree in Fine Art. Part of this blog is to show my progress as I turn from a newbie to a professional.
I’ve been told that I write very well when I get into the mood of it. I use this skill to roleplay in text-based environments. It’s my way of writing fan-fiction.
I am intermediate/advanced in tarot card reading. I’m not pagan or a witch/wiccan, just interested in tarot philosophy and esoteric symbolism. Now and then I will advertise free readings as practice on certain RP channels with good results. If I get a crowd of readers, I might advert here as well.
I’m a major introvert and tend to keep to myself but not adverse to making new friends. Or I wouldn’t have a blog in the first place!
I own a kitty, a calico named “Annie”. She’s very clingy but I wouldn’t have her any other way. She’s very vocal as well, sometimes to my chagrin; I still love her to bits.
That’s all I can think of. You’re welcome to ask questions as things go along (use my formspring).
Happy reading!
